Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin staked only a small amount of ETH due to concerns about security issues and the complexity of keeping it safe.
Speaking on the Bankless Podcast, Buterin said he didn’t stake all of his ethereum, just a “pretty small portion,” as investing securely on the network requires multisig, which remains a tricky process.
If you stake your ETH, the key to access it must be public on some online system. It has to be a multisig for security, and multisig for staking is still pretty hard to set up, it gets complicated in a lot of ways.
