According to a report released by CoinGecko, nearly 75% of the top 50 banks in the world support the transfer of funds to major cryptocurrency exchanges.
The report highlights that 37 of the top 50 banks are working with regulated exchanges to enable seamless transfer of funds. Notable institutions supporting ties to cryptocurrency exchanges include JPMorgan and Bank of America in the US, HSBC in the UK and MUFG in Japan.
Information about major banks supporting cryptocurrency transactions can be seen as a major step forward in the integration and adoption of cryptocurrencies in the traditional financial system. Nonetheless, the CoinGecko research clearly shows that none of the analyzed banks support retail cryptocurrency trading or expand their native platforms.
