Yoon Suk-yeol, a conservative candidate for South Korea’s March 9 presidential election, released an NFT featuring images and videos of himself on Monday in an attempt to influence young voters in the final stages of the campaign.
Yoon minted at least 4,000 NFTs on the Aergo blockchain, which began selling on South Korean NFT marketplace CCCV on Monday, priced at 50,000 won ($40.78) each. He plans to issue a total of 22,329 NFTs.
The latest Gallup poll for the presidential election in South Korea showed Yoon leading the race with 39 percent, followed by Democratic candidate Lee Jae-myung with 38 percent.
