On October 25th, according to a report in Barron’s, ProShares has applied to CME for exemption from Bitcoin futures ETF position restrictions. Without exemption, starting with the November contract, CME will limit the number of futures that buyers of Bitcoin futures ETFs can purchase to 4,000, which will be reduced to 2,000 three days before expiration. Since each contract represents 5 bitcoins, the total ownership is limited to 20,000 bitcoins.
