On October 12, the on-chain option protocol Pods announced that it has launched the Ethereum mainnet. Currently, it has opened an ETH:USDC put option liquidity pool that expires on November 26 and has an exercise price of US$3,200.
Pods is a kind of on-chain options agreement, and investors include Boost VC, Framework Ventures, P2P Capital, BitScale, Zeeprime, The LAO, etc.
Pods include two core components, Options Instrument and Options AMM, allowing users to create put options and call options, and trade through a novel option AMM, which uses the Black-Scholes algorithm to update option prices. And according to the supply and demand situation, the implied volatility is automatically updated by the program.
The Pods protocol runs on smart contracts driven by the Ethereum blockchain, which can provide users in DeFi with different risk exposures.
