Elon Musk has abandoned plans to partially fund its Twitter acquisition with a margin loan tied to Tesla stock, raising the equity financing of the acquisition to $33.5 billion.
Musk will provide another $6.25 billion in equity financing to offset a margin loan of the same size, which was cut to $6.25 billion earlier this month, according to a regulatory filing on Wednesday.
The documents also show that Musk continued to seek additional funding commitments, including discussions with former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and other investors to inject equity into Twitter.
