On January 24th, hackers attacked some well-known encrypted YouTube accounts sometime in the afternoon of January 23rd. The accounts were used to post fake promotional videos with text directing viewers to send money to hacked wallets for free cryptocurrency. Accounts that appear to have been targeted include BitBoy Crypto, Altcoin Buzz, Box Mining, Floyd Mayweather, Ivan on Tech, The Moon, and more.

The Binance Smart Chain wallet address listed in the fraudulent video currently has only 9 BNB transactions with a total value of around $850. Michael Gu said his YouTube channel Boxmining account posted a video without his permission. Luckily, we found out within two minutes of the video going live and managed to remove it.

By that time, my community had already viewed and commented on the video. He added that he had run an internal scan and found no viruses or vulnerabilities that could have given hackers access to his account. It looks like YouTube is to blame.
