According to news on February 26, Gabe Newell, founder of Valve, explained the reason why Steam banned NFTs in an interview recently. Gabe said: “At present, the development of NFTs is too rough, and there are some illegal factors behind the scenes, blockchain is a very good technology, but the current way of using it is so crude that you don’t want to touch it.

Afterwards, Gabe added: We had a similar problem with cryptocurrencies, 50% of the cryptocurrencies used for transactions are fraudulent.

And then the fluctuations in cryptocurrency value make it impossible for people to confirm what they are actually paying for, yes, these transactions are anchored in cryptocurrency, but most people’s wages are not in cryptocurrency.
