Dallas Mavericks Dogecoin starts operating

On March 5th, as part of the cooperation agreement with the encrypted payment service provider BitPay, the NBA team Dallas Mavericks Dogecoin (DOGE) began to operate payment. Prior to this, the Mavericks had accepted Bitcoin as payment, and it was the second NBA team to accept Bitcoin.

Team owner and billionaire Mark Cuban said at a press conference, “The Lone Ranger has decided to accept Dogecoin as a payment method for tickets and goods, one of the reasons is very important: because we can”.

At the beginning of last month, Cuban said on Twitter that he bought some Dogecoin in order to let his son teach him about the crypto market.

Earlier, Mark Cuban has revealed that the Dallas Mavericks are considering how to use blockchain for ticket sales and fan identity verification.

On February 1, Mark Cuban published an article using the NFT trading platform as an example to show that the transparency of the blockchain is a major advantage. Users can easily see the transaction history of each buyer, as well as what they have and the price they paid. Even if there is a certain threshold, it is still far below the field of traditional art and collectibles. This convenience opens the door to discovery for highly creative new talents.

He also expressed his optimism about encrypted assets. With the development of technology, blockchain has developed to support smart contracts and has the ability to identify the uniqueness of digital goods and related transactions. Because through the decentralized distribution, storage, and maintenance of the blockchain, no one party controls the transaction. Instead, miners compete to confirm the transaction. Blockchain-driven assets have now legally become a means of value storage.

Mark Cuban is also practicing NFT tokens himself.

On January 28, 2021, Mark Cuban will sell 10 pieces of encrypted art NFT created by him on the NFT trading platform Rarible. The crypto whale 0xb1 spent 65 ETH to purchase two same-version crypto art NFTs by NBA Dallas Mavericks owner and billionaire Mark Cuban, with a total value of approximately US$81,300.

On February 10, 2021, Mark Cuban made personal video clips into NFT for sale on the trading platform Rarible. It only took 22 minutes to reach 50 ETH in sales. According to Mark Cuban, this is just the beginning.
