Cboe’s BZX exchange filed its latest 19b-4 filing for a spot bitcoin ETF on Friday, naming crypto exchange Coinbase as its regulatory sharing agreement (SSA) partner.
In an update to Wise Origin Bitcoin Trust, a spot ETF proposed by Fidelity, Cboe said it expected to enter into an SSA agreement with Coinbase, Inc. Similar language was included in filings from Invesco, Wisdom Tree and Wise Origin.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) told some of these issuers that their filings were “inadequate” because they did not disclose the names of the marketplaces with which the fund sponsors worked on regulatory sharing agreements.
In its refiled application, CBOE said that Coinbase’s platform “represents a significant portion of U.S. dollar-denominated bitcoin trading.”
