Tim Harrison, vice president of community and ecosystem at IOG, and Kevin Hammond, technical manager at IOG, revealed that the Vasil hard fork upgrade of the Cardano mainnet, which was previously planned for the end of July, has been delayed again, but did not say how many weeks it would take.
“Obviously, from where we’re at right now, it’s probably still a couple of weeks before the Vasil hard fork actually happens,” Hammond said. “It’s very important. All users must be prepared to go through the hard fork to make sure the process goes smoothly.”
“This will ensure API developers and exchanges are prepared,” Harrison said. Overall, the main reason for delaying the hard fork upgrade is to give Cardano’s engineers more room to conduct thorough testing.
